DYE NT9
Rumors came about on here during World Cup about DYE’s next big invention. Well sources have spoken about the New Technologies 9 that’s scheduled to be released in Huntington Beach 2009. The proto type gun was seen on the field at Whittier in Southern California a few weekends back, had no LPR and a new bolt all inside a DM8 body. The gun is said to shoot 2000 balls per 68/4500 fill. Sounds like quite the feat, can DYE make this a reality?
In the DYE Rotor video there is a gun that shoots approx. 40 bps., the bolt inside is said to be the one they will be utilizing in the NT9. Check it out for yourself..
R.I.P. Tyson Evenson (SLY Equipment). He passed away Friday. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and friends.
Glad to have the opportunity to call you a friend, Cheers Tyson!
We ask that you please be respectful when contacting those around him.
Monday Report / The Philly American PRO spot
Johnny “Two Beer Grier” is poised to fill Jason Bornstein’s spot on the Pro Bushwackers team. Grier started the season out with Aftermath (D1) and has since been working his way up the Bushwacker ladder. Ron Kilbourne has been known to make last minute swaps so anything is possible at this stage in the game.
A few weeks ago we mentioned that Frank Connel was working on selling, then filling, and now, effectively “giving away” the pro slot Philly once commanded. Unfortunately for Frank, and the numerous teams hes been courting, the NPPL has yet to announce anything related to the relegation (or the oft rumored lack therof) and has ultimately hampered Franks efforts in selling off the spot.
The latest in the Philly drama is that NXE was given the spot to do what they wish. Rumors have been circulating that Bosch and his NXE Factory team were going to fill the shoes of Philly’s finest and make a run for it. Apparently the NXE guys have decided to step it up a notch and take on the top teams. Word has it that if the NPPL ends regulation (as has been rumored) that Frank will then sell the spot off to the highest bidder. With that said, the team will be playing as Pittsburgh All Americans and should prove for some entertaining games.
Several teams have been rumored to be on the market for NPPL pro spots in 09. Most plausable however, is Art Mendoza’s Miami Rage D2 squad. The team has been making quick work of the lower divisional teams and augmented by some seasoned Pro’s, the team should make for a good showing in the pro bracket if everything works out. Word has it that the team is fully funded by an NFL star player with some deep pockets. The 08 roster of Miami Rage Pro squad has made a surprisingly weak showing this year and is set to give up the spot come the end of the season.

The knife turns in the Bushwacker camp
Our chatbox has been going back and forth with rumblings that one of the Bornstein brothers (ex Ballistic, XSV Influence) was recently axed from the Bushwackers (8th place, NPPL). We recently learned that Ryan Podesta, Captain of the Pro team, had a long standing grudge against Jason Bornstein for reasons still unknown. Apparently the two players butted heads for the last time and Ryan Podesta made a power play.
For those unfamiliar with the internal workings of the Bushwackers, the team has a long standing policy that any player caught using non-sponsored equipment (for any reason!), may be cut and or fined at Ron Kilbournes discretion.
Ryan Podesta made his move while watching Jason Bornstein grab a timmy during practice when his ego went down, eagerly snapping a photo which was later as grounds for cutting Jason.
The best part of all of this, however, is that Ryan jumped at the opportunity to publicly blast Jason (check pbreserve chatbox on the left), then adamantly deny it. Here is a tip Ryan, next time your going to “make a power move”, try not to post about it on the internet.
As of writing Jason was unavailable for comment on the matter. Jason Bornstein has joined Oakland Blast for the final event of the season.
Ask the Richards; Pro adventures of a Father & Son
In just a few days we will have the opportunity to sit down with both Matt & Paul Richards and ask them about the experiences of a father and son on the road to the top.
Tampa Bay Damage athlete, Matt Richards, and his dad, Coach Paul Richards, have been an integral part of several well known teams (Doc’s Raiders, Static, Detroit Strange & recently Tampa Bay Damage). Matt recently announced his retirement from professional paintball following World Cup 2008 after an astonishing season with Tampa Bay Damage. In the teams NXL debut, TB Damge defied the odds and won Chicago 2008; a feat accomplished by few in such a short time. As well as coaching multiple teams to victory, Coach Paul Richards has been an integral part of paintball by covering the past, present and future of the sport for PGi.
This is a great opportunity to ask the questions that are relevant to your interests! You can ask as many questions as you would like, but please, only one per post.
